Fundraising Events
Responding to the need for economic opportunities, the foundation, in 2007 began sponsoring the Sparta Holiday Festival, later adding in 2013 the Devereux Freedom Fest and in 2018 the ART in SpARTa showcase in partnership with the Georgia Council of the Arts. Each event offers a venue for entertainers to showcase their talents, and vendor opportunities for entrepreneurs. CJEF reinvests in the community through awarding college scholarships, providing jobs, and supporting local organizations. They co-sponsor a back-to-school supply drive with the Javion James Foundation and a summer camp with the Hancock County Commissioners. CJEF is a trendsetter and have established many first for Hancock County and the Devereux community which had never experienced a community event prior to the initiation of CJEF..
